Pre-examination
Before we begin treatment, we perform a thorough examination of the tooth. We assess whether a dental crown is the right solution for you, and we take X-rays to ensure that the tooth structure can support a crown.
Preparing the tooth
First, we will grind down the tooth to make room for the crown. This is done under local anaesthetic so you won’t feel any pain.
Impression of the tooth
Next, we take an accurate impression of your tooth and surrounding teeth so the crown can be made to match your tooth structure and bite. We’ll color-match the crown so it blends in naturally with your smile.
Temporary crown
You will receive a temporary crown while the final crown is made in the lab. This will protect the tooth while you wait.
Final customization and cementation
Once the final crown is ready, we remove the temporary crown and place the permanent crown. We make sure it fits perfectly, both aesthetically and functionally, before cementing it in place permanently.
